All latency tests time out
When every node in the Proxies page shows timeout, the problem is usually not a single node. Check in this order:
- Rule out a local outage first: Disconnect the proxy and open an ordinary page to confirm your own network works.
- Confirm the subscription is valid: Expired plans and exhausted traffic invalidate node info. Update the profile and retry.
- Check the test URL: If the default latency test URL is blocked by your local network, everything times out—switch to a different test address in settings.
- Distinguish "test timeout" from "no connectivity": A failing test URL doesn't necessarily mean the node is down—manually select a node and try loading a page.
- Check the system clock: A large clock skew breaks TLS handshakes everywhere, which shows up as mass timeouts. Sync the system time and retry.
- Contact your provider: If all of the above are fine, the provider's nodes may be down or blocked—check their announcement page or group.
For single-node timeouts, just switch to a low-latency node. For choosing a proxy mode, see rule mode vs global mode.
